1 Corinthians 16:9
Operation World
Jimmy will tie 1 Corinthians 16:9 into Advent. He will talk about how Jesus came into the world and experienced adversity and faced obstacles from the time of his birth—Herod’s slaughter of the infants, flight to Egypt, etc. and throughout his life but he embraced the role the Father gave him to accomplish his purpose and mission.
Paul also faced obstacles in life and ministry but embraced the opportunities of life. We too will face both obstacles and opportunities-as individual disciples and as an international church. With God’s help—and only with God’s help—we can embrace the opportunities and overcome obstacles in life and service to the Lord to fulfill the purposes God has for us on earth. I will focus on God’s global purpose to bring salvation to the ends of the earth; hence the title, Operation World.
