Small Groups
The vision of small groups at ICF is to provide a Christ-centred community, which fosters Spiritual growth towards maturity in Christ through Bible study, prayer, and mutual accountability.
- What is our Goal?
Our main goal in this small group ministry is to give glory to the Lord through worship, discipleship and obedience. As believers, we recognize that everything we do should ultimately glorify God. We understand that our salvation is solely through the work of Jesus Christ on the cross, and our response to that is a life of gratitude in which we seek to become more like Jesus and lead others to Him.
- Who is the agent?
True transformation and growth come through the power of the Holy Spirit. When we submit to the guidance and work of the Holy Spirit, He empowers us to live our faith and become more like Christ.
- What is the method?
The Word of God and Prayer.
The Word of God is our foundation for spiritual growth and maturity. Through the study and application of the Word of God, we gain wisdom, understanding, and direction for our lives.
Prayer is the expression of our confidence in God’s absolute sovereignty and a means by which a child communicates with His heavenly Father. It enables us to seek His divine plan, make our requests, and experience His transforming power.
- What is the context?
“Everything that grows has an environment in which it grows…The context or environment for the growth of a Christian is an authentic Christian community” (Michael C. Mack)
The authentic Christian community plays a vital role in our spiritual growth. As Michael C. Mack said, “Everything that grows has an environment in which it grows.” For us, that environment is a Christ-centred community. Our community is built on the foundation of the Gospel and this fosters meaningful discipleship, learning, and caring for one another.
It is our desire here at ICF that everyone is cared for and grows.
Small groups are a means to provide you with a relational environment that is intentionally led, where there is real sharing and real teaching so that we can be a church that makes disciples of Jesus, and together taking a step to the right towards the Kingdom of God.
